Kevin Jiggetts was born in Washington, DC at historic Freedmen's Hospital, now Howard University's School of Communications. He knew, after seeing the movie Breakout (circa 1975), starring the late Charles Bronson, that acting was in the cards. In the 7th grade, he found himself in Miss Neville's acting class, but peer pressure would force the budding actor to drop the class and secretly harbor his dreams. After high school, he opted for the challenge of the United States Marine Corps. During a successful tour, he earned and was awarded numerous medals and ribbons that included a Purple Heart and a Combat Action. Honorably discharged, he again opted for, still another challenge, in that of being a Corrections Officer within the infamous D.C. Department of Corrections. During his tenure in this position (7.5 years), the acting bug became more than he could ignore and he, again, found himself in his first workshop under the tutelage Cam Magee. Shortly, thereafter, Kevin would study at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, The Shakespeare Theater and The Actors Studio, Inc in New York City to name a few.
