Kurt Fitzpatrick was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised in South Harrison Township, New Jersey, where his father was the mayor and businessman and his mother a teacher at a local college. Kurt attended Catholic school for thirteen years (a basis for future comedy), and in high school he began doing theater. After high school, Kurt continued to perform, doing college and community theater, as well as stand-up comedy. Kurt attended film school at Temple University and found a niche creating comedic films that he also acted in. He became primarily known as an actor in the film/TV program, since he acted in so many student films. After college he moved to New York City where he performed stand-up and wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the feature film "Kin." Kurt continued acting in films, including leading roles in "Economics 101," "100 Stories," and "Singles.com." He spent five years writing and performing sketch comedy and improv shows in New York. In 2003 Kurt began performing an autobiographical one-person show titled "Hooray for Speech Therapy," which he began performing in New York and then toured cites from San Francisco to Saskatoon. In 2004 Kurt played the lead role in Ja Film's feature film "The Closer."
