Born in Detroit, Michigan, Chris Gardner spent most of his childhood in inner-city public schools until he received a scholarship to attend Cranbrook; a prestigious boarding school. It was there that he discovered his love for acting. He graduated and went on to study at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Manhattan. While in New York he began working in commercials. He also landed his first television role on the critically acclaimed HBO series "Oz" in which he played a young Muslim. One fateful day, he headed for Los Angeles. Within a few months he landed the role of Darren the Dell Intern in a commercial campaign for Dell computers that spanned two years. He has also racked up notable roles on "The Practice" and "The West Wing". Most recently, he has been making his mark as a voice-over artist, appearing in video games like, "Batman: Arkham City", "Spiderman", and "Red Alert 3".
