Graduated in the Prefecture of Nagasaki. Joined Tôkyô Movie Animation Production in the beginning of the 70s and in 1973 is promoted to animation director, collaborating in the TV series "Jungle Kurobe" and "Aim For the Ace!". In 1977 he does his most famous work as character designer and animation director (along with Kenji Kodama and Takashi Asakura), "New Lupin III", later re-used in several films and TV-Movies about Monkey Punch's creation. His film debut was in 1978, in the first official animation movie of the latter, "Lupin III and the Mystery of Mamoo".
