Daniel Martin Berkey started acting in 1979 and enjoyed the abundant theatrical opportunities in Minneapolis where he was raised. In 1986 he moved to New York City where he attended Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program under the direction of the late, great Zelda Fichandler. In 1989 he received his MFA and went on tour with The Acting Company for several years. In 1994 he began an alliance with an experimental theatre group called Monkey Wrench Theatre. This began a period of intense workshops and rehearsals, resulting in the world premier of C.J.Hopkins' Horse Country in 1997. In 2007 he began exploring film and TV. He vacillated between theatre and film until 2010, at which point he began working in film exclusively.
