Joel Urzua is an actor who was born in Los Angeles, California to Mexican parents Lilia Carmen and Jose Urzua. He grew up in Aguascalientes, Ags. Mexico. At the age of 17, he moved back to California in order to complete his education, earning a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Spanish at Cal Poly Pomona University. During school, he had the opportunity to work in the office of Emily Thornberry, a member of Parliament in London. It was during his time in London that his passion for the theater and entertainment industry was awakened. However, at age ten, he started performing in poetry and choral competitions throughout middle school. He continued performing with a Mexican traditional dance group called Xhanat in several locations in California. It was then that he had the opportunity to become a cast member at Disneyland Resorts where his interest to entertain began to flow from his internal passion. His first leading role was in the theatrical show called Don Quixote, a novel by Miguel Cervantes. He was also cast to perform in "Guys and Dolls", a musical at Long Beach Playhouse.
